Today's Contest
Today is the eighth game of the 2022 season, the fifth road game of the season and the seventh Ohio Athletic Conference clash for the Baldwin Wallace University football team as it travels to Bexley to take on the Capital University Comets.  Last week, BW posted a 35-14 victory over Otterbein University on Community and Family Day and Homecoming.  Capital fell to John Carroll University by a final score of 42-10 in University Heights.

The Series
BW and Capital are meeting for the 53rd time on the gridiron.  The Yellow Jackets hold a 40-12  series lead, including winning the last four contests and eight of the last nine meetings. The series began in 1928 when Capital defeated BW, 19-0, in Bexley.  Capital's last victory in Bexley was in 2016 when it posted a 42-41 overtime victory as the Yellow Jackets 2-point conversion for the victory came up short.

BW Head Coach Jim Hilvert 
Hilvert is in his sixth season at BW and has a record of  34-14 and OAC slate of 28-13. He is 101-39 in his 14th overall season and is 4-0 against Capital. 

Capital Head Coach Brian Foos:
Foos, who is in his second season at Capital, is no stranger to BW as he served as he served as offensive coordinator on Hilvert's staff from 2016-18. Foos has an overall record of 2-15  and an OAC mark of 1-14.  He is 0-2 against Baldwin Wallace.

Last Game vs. Capital --October 2,  2021
BW scored  51  points on 312 yards rushing, and 63 yards passing and 375 total yards.  Capital was held scoreless on 155 yards rushing, 60 yards passing and 215 total yards. 

Scouting the Yellow Jackets
In week seven of the season, BW scored 35 points on 186 yards rushing and 142 yards passing for 328 yards of total offense. Otterbein scored 14 points on 143 yards passing and 96 yards rushing for 239 total yards.

BW Leaders
Offensively, junior quarterback Joey Marousek (North Royalton) has completed 69-of-138 passes for 972 yards with nine touchdowns and 10 interceptions.  Junior All-OAC running back Jon Murray, Jr. (Cincinnati/Withrow) is second in the OAC in yards with 673 yards and carries with 147.He is tied for fourth in the league with five touchdowns. Senior wideout Darius Stokes (Canton/GlenOak) leads the receiving corps with 338 yards on 23 catches with three touchdowns. Defensively, senior linebacker Mason Levasseur (Panama City, Fla. / South Walton)  tops the team with 52 tackles. Junior linebacker Vontae Jackson (Cleveland/John Hay) is second on the squad 48 stops. Senior linebacker Dillon O'Donoghue (Canonsburg, Pa. /Cannon-McMillian) is third on the team with 43 tackles.

Scouting the Comets
In week seven of the season, Capital scored 10 points on 177  yard passing, 66 yards rushing and 243  total yards.  John Carroll scored 42 points on 342 yards passing, 188 yards rushing and 530 total yards.

Capital Leaders
Offensively, junior quarterback Eason Hardouin has completed 91-of-154 passes for 994 yards with six touchdowns and three interceptions.  Senior running back All-OAC Siraj Muhammad has rushed for 470 yards on 78 carries with four touchdowns. Sophomore wide out Damien Whaley  has caught 31 passes for 196 yards with two touchdowns while freshman tight end Christian Pataky has reeled in 18 passes for 289 yards with two touchdowns. Defensively, sophomore Justin Bartlett tops the team and is seventh in the OAC with 51 tackles.

Rushing King
Murray, Jr. is atop all of the rushing records in school history.  The All-OAC running back is the all-time leaders in yards with 3,389 yards, carries with 701 and touchdowns with 40.

BW campus radio station WBWC, 88.3 FM, broadcasts most home and away football games. You also can listen to the games live at www.wbwc.com.  The pregame show generally starts 20 minutes prior to kickoff.
