BW Tracksters Compete at Coastal Carolina (S.C.) Meet

CONWAY, SOUTH CAROLINA – Senior middle distance specialist Brooke Hradisky (Aurora) won the women's open 1500-meter run as the Baldwin Wallace University men's and women's outdoor track and field teams opened the spring season at the unscored 2014 Coastal Carolina University Snowbird Invitational Meet.  You can view the results here http://www.goccusports.com/sports/c-track/stats/2013-2014/ccuinvitationalfinalresults2014.html.

While the Yellow Jacket outdoor thinclads were participating in South Carolina and on their way back from their annual spring break trip to Florida, four other BW standouts were in Nebraska to compete at the NCAA Division III National Indoor Track & Field Championship Meet at the University of Nebraska and hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan University.  You can read more about BW's success and heartbreak at http://www.bwyellowjackets.com/sports/mtrack/2013-14/releases/ncaa_iii_indoor_national_championship_meet.

In addition to placing first in the open 1500, Hradisky also placed 11th in the 800-meter run with a mark of 2:20.17. In the open 200-meter dash, freshman Katie Richter (Canfield) finished sixth with a time of 27.02 seconds. Also, sophomore Ashley Wakut (Seven Hills/Normandy) was fifth in the open 400-meter dash in 1:02.75 and senior distance runner Blair Vrcan (Mentor) was ninth in the 3000-meter steeplechase in 12:23.71.

The Yellow Jacket men were led by sophomore Ben Beidleman (Washington, D.C./ St. Anselm's Abbey) as he placed ninth in the seeded 100-meter dash in 10.97 seconds and 11th in the seeded 200-meter dash in 22.13 seconds.

In addition, sophomore Mike Miller (Strongsville) placed fifth in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 8:59.29, the men's 4 x 100-meter relay team consisting of sophomore's Aaron Long (Mishawaka, Ind./ Penn) and Alex Fuhrman (Painesville/ Riverside) and juniors Alex Evers (Middlefield/ Burton Berkshire) and Alex Nagy (Baldwinville, N.Y./ Charles W. Baker) finished sixth in 43.84 seconds, and freshman T.J. Levistsky (Parma/ Senior) placed fourth in the pole vault with a vault of 12-feet and seven and one-half inches (12' 7.5").

Next weekend, Friday and Saturday, March 21-22, BW travels to Charlotte, North Carolina to compete at the annual University of North Carolina Charlotte 49er Invitational Meet.
