Five Women's Soccer Players Named All-OAC

BEREA, OHIO --   Five Baldwin-Wallace University women's soccer standouts, senior Lindsey Cooper (Westerville/New Albany), juniors Kayla Losco (Hopewell Township, Pa./Hopewell), Elizabeth Helser (Fort Wayne, Ind./Canterbury) and Rachel Gokey (Seville/Cloverleaf) and freshman Emily Tallmadge (Fairview, Pa.), have been named to the 2012 All-Ohio Athletic Conference team. Cooper, Losco and Helser were first-team selections and Gokey and Tallmadge made the second-team.


Cooper, a midfielder, made the team for the third straight season since transferring to BW from NCAA Division I High Point (N.C.) University. She was a second-team pick last season and made the honorable mention squad in 2010. This season, Cooper led the Yellow Jackets in scoring with nine goals and one assist for 19 points and ended her career with 19 goals and eight assists for 46 points. her nine goals and team-leading 64 shots each ranked third in the OAC, and her 19 points ranked fourth. In addition, she was named Academic All-OAC a year ago.

Losco, a midfielder, made the squad for the first time and led the OAC in assists with nine and was 13th in scoring with 13 points. She was second on the team in scoring, fourth with 21 shots and tied for fifth with two goals. Losco will enter her senior season in 2013 with seven goals and nine assists for 23 points.

Helser made the All-OAC team for the third straight year. She was a second-team pick as both a freshman and sophomore. She has been a key member of the defense the past three years. This season, Helser and the BW defense allowed just 0.61 goals per match to lead the league. Individually, she took eight shots, scored one goal and had two points. Helser will enter her senior season with three goals and one assist for seven points and the leader of a defense that has recorded 18 shutouts the past three seasons.

Gokey, a three-year starter, made the OAC honor squad for the first time. This season, she took 26 shots to rank third, including 16 on-goal, and had two goals and two assists for six points. Gokey will enter the 2013 season with seven goals and nine assists for 23 points.

Tallmadge made a huge impact as a freshman. She was a part of nine total shutouts, including eight individual whitewashes. She led the OAC in both goalie shot percentage at .855 and goals-against-average at 0.61. Overall, Tallmadge compiled an impressive 12-3-4 mark in the net.
