BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team defeat Muskingum University, 3-1, in an Ohio Athletic Conference game on the Tressel Field inside the George Finnie Stadium.

With the win, the Yellow Jackets improve to 7-2-3 overall and 1-1 in the OAC.  With the loss, the Fighting Muskies are now 4-7 overall and 0-2 in the OAC.

In the first half, senior midfielder Lindsey Cooper (Westerville/ New Albany) scored the opening goal off a corner kick from junior midfielder Kayla Losco (Hopewell Twp., Pa/ Hopewell) at the 2:37 mark. BW added another goal at the 7:49 mark by freshman forward Kelsey Nemeth (Medina). The unassisted goal was Nemeth's first goal of her collegiate career.

In the second half, Cooper scored her second goal of the night and eighth of the season at the 74:30 mark to make the score, 3-1 in favor of BW.

In net for the Yellow Jackets, freshman goalkeeper Emily Tallmadge (Fairview, Pa.) faced two Muskie shots, including one on-goal.  She allowed one goal and made one saves in 90 minutes of action.

In the match, BW outshot Muskingum, 16-2, and won the corner kick battle, 6-0. 

The Yellow Jackets remain at home on Saturday, October 6 when they host the Polar Bears of Ohio Northern University in the first game of a women's and men's OAC soccer doubleheader at 4:30 p.m.   The men's game will kick-off at 7:00 p.m.  Then on Tuesday, October 9, the men will host Heidelberg University in the first game of a women's and men's OAC and SportsTime Ohio doubleheader at 4:30 p.m.   The women's game will start at 6:30 p.m.
