BEREA, OHIO -- Head Coach Reid Ayers won his 100th career women's match as the Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team closed out the home portion of its schedule today by shutting out Capital University by a final score of 1-0 in an Ohio Athletic Conference match on the Tressel Field.

With the victory, the Yellow Jackets improved to 10-3-4 overall, 4-2-1 in the OAC and went 4-0-1 at home on the year.  With the loss, the Crusaders fell to 9-7-1 overall and 4-2-1 in the OAC.

In the first half, both teams battled to a scoreless tie.  BW recorded the only two shots of the period.

In the second half, the Yellow Jackets got on the scoreboard when freshman forward Audrie Wolfe (Hilliard/Darby) took cross from senior All-OAC midfielder Lindsey Cooper (Westerville/New Albany) and tapped it into the lower right corner at the 62:25 mark.   The goal snapped a 279-minute scoreless streak for BW dating back to the final goal of a 3-0 victory against Heidelberg on October 9.  In addition, it was the fifth goal of the season for Wolfe and marked the first assist for Cooper.

In net for the Yellow Jackets, freshman goalkeeper Emily Tallmadge (Fairview, Pa.) faced six Crusader shots, including three on-goal, did not allow a goal and made three saves in 90:00 minutes of action. Capital junior goaltender Maggie Donnellan faced six BW shots, including four on-goal, allowed one goal and made three saves in 90:00 minutes of action.

In the match, the teams tied in shots with six each but the Crusaders won the corner kick battle, 2-1.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Tuesday, October 23 when they travel to Alliance to take on the Purple Raiders of the University of Mount Union at 7:00 p.m.
