BW ATHLETICS INFORMATION:   Tyler Maclellan competed in his second season of wrestling at Baldwin Wallace University in 2015-2016. The two-time first-team All-Ohio Athletic Conference and two-time NWCA (National Wrestling Coaches Association) Scholar All-American earned his second varsity letter and made his first trip to the 2016 NCAA Division III National Tournament.

NCAA MIDEAST REGIONAL: As a sophomore in 2015-2016, Tyler placed second at 197 pounds at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Tournament to earn his berth into the national tournament.

ACADEMIC INFORMATION:  Tyler carries a 3.517 grade point average and is a Dean's List student and member of the Alpha Lambda Honor Society.

NWCA SCHOLAR-ALL-AMERICAN:  As a freshman in 2014-2015 and sophomore in 2015-2016, Tyler was named as a NWCA (National Wrestling Coaches Association) Scholar All-American.

ALL-OAC HONORS: As a freshman in 2014-2015 and sophomore in 2015-2016, Tyler was a first-team All-OAC selection.

ACADEMIC ALL-OAC:   As a sophomore in 2015-2016, Tyler earned Academic All-OAC honors.

OAC WRESTLER OF THE WEEK:  As a freshman in 2014-2015, Tyler was named as the OAC Wrestler of the Week on February 23, 2015.

GENERAL WRESTLING INFORMATION:   As a freshman in 2014-2015, Tyler competed in his first season of wrestling and earned his first varsity letter. He started at 197 pounds and was named as the OAC Wrestler of the Week for his efforts (a key pin) in a 20-19 win at Heidelberg University on Feb. 17, 2015. Tyler won an individual title at 197 pounds at the Brockport (N.Y.) University Tournament. He earned first-team All-OAC honors and was a NWCA (National Wrestling Coaches Association) Scholar All-American. Tyler had a 16-7 record with five pins and one technical fall. He also had 31 takedowns, 20 escapes, three reversals and seven total near falls. BW had a single-season school-record 17 victories, a 17-6 overall record, including a 4-1 OAC dual mark, won the John Summa Memorial Tournament title, placed third at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional and 20th at the 2015 NCAA Division III National Tournament.

As a sophomore in 2015-2016, Tyler competed in his second season of wrestling and earned his second letter. He started at 197 pounds. Tyler earned first-team All-OAC honors for the second straight season and was both an Academic All-OAC and NWCA Scholar All-American selection. Tyler placed second at the 2016 NCAA Div. III Mideast Regional Tournament with a 3-1 record and qualified for his first NCAA Div. III National Tournament. At the NCAA Tournament, Tyler lost both of his matches and was eliminated. He ended his season with a 27-16 record. BW compiled a school-record 18 victories with an 18-8 overall record, won the OAC title with a perfect 5-0 record and placed an all-time best second at the NCAA Div. III Mideast Regional Tournament. BW also was 31st of 53 teams at the NCAA Division III National Championships.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION:   Tyler Maclellan grew up in Medina, Ohio and graduated from Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy.

Tyler played four years of football and earned three varsity letters. He also wrestled for four years and earned four letters.

In football, Tyler earned first-team All-Principals Athletic Conference 7, first-team All-District and second-team All-Ohio honors.

In wrestling, Tyler was a Sectional, District and 2013-2014 OHSAA Division II 195-pound state champion. He also was a two-time OHSAA State Tournament place-winner (he finished eighth as a junior in 2012-2013).

Academically, Tyler was a member of the National Honors Society.
