BW ATHLETICS INFORMATION:   RJ Martin competed in his second season of wrestling at Baldwin Wallace University in 2015-2016. He hopes to earn his first varsity letter.

GENERAL WRESTLING INFORMATION,  As a freshman in 2014-2015, RJ competed in his first season of wrestling and received a certificate of participation. He had a 10-8 record with five pins. He also had 28 takedowns, 26 escapes, five reversals, and five total near falls. BW set a single-season school-record with 17 wins, finished 17-6 overall and 4-1 in OAC dual matches, won the 29th Annual John Summa Memorial Tournament, placed sixth at the NCAA Div. III Mideast Regional and 20th at the 2015 NCAA Div. III National

As a sophomore in 2015-2016, RJ competed in his second season of wrestling and hopes to earn his first varsity letter. He battled for mat time and split his time as a back up between the 149 and 157-pound weight classes. RJ compiled a 6-12 record with one pin, 14 takedowns, 26 escapes, three reversals and four total near falls. BW compiled a school-record 18 victories with an 18-8 overall record, won the OAC title with a perfect 5-0 record and placed an all-time best second at the NCAA Div. III Mideast Regional Tournament. BW also was 31st of 53 teams at the NCAA Division III National Championships.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION:  RJ Martin grew up in Sunbury, Ohio and graduated from Big Walnut High School.

RJ wrestled for four years and lettered four times. He lettered twice in track.

RJ was a first-team All-Ohio Capital Conference, first-team All-Central Catholic League and a state qualifier. The two-year team captain had a 99-65 career record.
