BW ATHLETICS INFORMATION:   Gabe Mahaney competed in his second season of wrestling at Baldwin Wallace University in 2015-2016. He hopes to earn his second varsity letter.

GENERAL WRESTLING INFORMATION,  As a freshman in 2014-2015, Gabe competed in his first season of wrestling and earned his first varsity letter. He competed in the 174, 184 and 197-pound weight classes and compiled a 9-9 record with one pin. He also had 15 takedowns, 11 escapes, five reversals and six near falls. BW finished with a school-record 17 victories, finished 17-6 overall, including a 4-1 OAC dual match mark, won the Summa Memorial Tournament title, placed sixth at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional and 20th at the NCAA Div. III National Tournament.

As a sophomore in 2015-2016, Gabe competed in his second season of wrestling and hopes to earn his second letter. He battled for mat time and was a backup to senior Ben LeBrun '16 at 184 pounds. Gabe compiled a 9-6 record with three pins and two technical falls. He also had 14 takedowns, 14 escapes, two reversals and 52 total near falls. BW compiled a school-record 18 victories with an 18-8 overall record, won the OAC title with a perfect 5-0 record and placed an all-time best second at the NCAA Div. III Mideast Regional Tournament. BW also was 31st of 53 teams at the NCAA Division III National Championships.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION:  Gabe Mahaney grew up in North Canton, Ohio and graduated from Green High School.

Gabe wrestled for four years and earned four varsity letters. He was a two-time Suburban League place-winner and a District qualifier.

Academically, Gabe was a Suburban League Scholar-Athlete.
