ACADEMIC MAJOR:  Marketing

BW ATHLETICS INFORMATION: Anthony Arroyo competed in his first season of wrestling at Baldwin Wallace University in 2015-2016. The 2016 first-team All-Ohio Athletic Conference 165-pounder earned his first varsity letter.

NCAA MIDEAST REGIONAL:  As a freshman in 2015-2016, Anthony placed fifth at 165 pounds.

ALL-OAC HONORS HONORS:  As a freshman in 2015-2016, Anthony earned first-team All-OAC honors.

OAC WRESTLER OF THE WEEK:  As a freshman in 2015-2016, Anthony was named as the OAC Wrestler of the Week on February 8, 2016.

GENERAL WRESTLING INFORMATION:  As a freshman in 2015-2016, Anthony competed in his first season of wrestling and earned his first varsity letter. After competing with two other wrestlers, he took over the starting job at 165 pounds after senior and 2014 NCAA Division III national qualifier David Shapiro '16 was injured and lost for the season. He compiled a 24-9 record with 16 pins and one technical fall. He also had 26 takedowns, 22 escapes, nine reversals and 64 near falls (second on team).  Anthony was named as the OAC Wrestler of the Week on Feb. 8, 2016. His pin at Mt. Union was the key victory in a 21-12 win on Feb. 3, 2016, and he ended the week on Feb. 6 by going 4-0 and winning the 165-pound title at the 30th Annual BW John Summa Memorial Tournament. Anthony earned first-team All-OAC honors and placed fifth at the 2016 NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Tournament. BW compiled a school-record 18 victories with an 18-8 overall record, won the OAC title with a perfect 5-0 record and placed an all-time best second at the NCAA Div. III Mideast Regional Tournament.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION:  Anthony grew up in Maumee, Ohio and graduated from Maumee High School.

Anthony wrestled for four years and earned four varsity letters. He was a Northern Lakes League champion once and two-time NLL runner-up, a two-time OHSAA (Ohio High School Athletic Association) Sectional champion and one-time runner-up, a three-time District qualifier and two-time fifth-place finisher. Statistically, Anthony had 100 career wins with seasons of 5-10 (freshman), 29-11 (sophomore), 30-9 (junior) and 36-4 (senior).
