BW ATHLETICS INFORMATION: Richie Burke competed in his first season of wrestling at Baldwin Wallace University in 2015-2016. The NWCA Scholar All-American, All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection and OAC Wrestler of the Week choice earned his first varsity letter and placed at the 2016 NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Tournament.
ACADEMIC SUCCESS: Richie Carries a 3.2 grade point average.
NWCA SCHOLAR ALL-AMERICAN: As a freshman in 2015-2016, Richie earned NWCA (National Wrestling Coaches Association) Scholar All-America honors.
NCAA MIDEAST REGIONAL: As a freshman in 2015-2016, Richie placed fifth at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Tournament.
ALL-OAC HONORS: As a freshman in 2015-2016, Richie earned second-team All-OAC honors.
OAC WRESTLER OF THE WEEK HONORS: As a freshman in 2015-2016, Richie was named as the Ohio Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Week on February 22, 2016.
GENERAL WRESTLING INFORMATION: As a freshman in 2015-2016, Richie competed in his first season of wrestling and earned his first varsity letter. He began the season splitting time between the 157 and 165 weight classes. He earned the starting role at 157 pounds midway through the season. He compiled a 27-17 overall record, including a 3-0 mark against OAC foes. He had nine pins and three technical falls. Richie earned OAC Wrestler of the Week honors on February 22, 2016 for his pin versus Heidelberg University on Feb. 16 that helped to clinch the OAC title. He also earned second-team All-OAC honors. BW reset the school-record for single-season wins with 18, compile an 18-8 overall and perfect 5-0 OAC record and an OAC title and place second at the 2016 NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Tournament.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION: Richie grew up in Ithaca, New York and graduated from Itaca High School.
Richie wrestled for four years and earned four varsity letters. He was a five-time Section 4 Division I champion, served as a varsity captain for three years and had 214 career wins (second all-time in school history). He also had the most Sectional victories in school history. He earned fifth place in the Eastern States in 11th grade, placed fifth in the New York State Tournament in 10th grade and fourth place in both 11th and 12th grade.
