BW Women’s Golf Team Takes Second at Mount Union Spring Invite

ALLIANCE, OHIO – The defending Ohio Athletic Conference champion Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team finished second of nine teams the University of Mount Union Spring Invitational at the Tannenhauf Golf Course.  

BW, which has won two straight OAC titles and has advanced to the last two NCAA Division III national tournaments, shot an 18-hole total 336 strokes today. Wittenberg University won the event with a total of 326.  Each team has five golfers in its starting lineup with the top four scores counting toward the team total.

The Yellow Jackets were led by All-OAC junior standouts Emilee Woolf (Ravenna) and Rebecca Jones (Hilliard/ Darby) who each shot a team low score of 83 to tie for third.

In addition, senior All-OAC, Academic All-OAC and CAPITAL ONE Academic All-American Brooke Hamilton (Cleveland/ St. Joseph Academy) carded an 84 to finish tied for seventh. Senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC student-athlete Rebecca Kapusta (Independence) shot an 86. Freshman Sabre Adkins (Dublin/ Coffman) rounded out the starting lineup and shot a 92.

Competing individually, freshman Laura Vidmar (Willoughby/ South) shot a first round total of 98 strokes and senior Sarah Terrill (Cuyahoga Falls/ Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) shot a 101.

BW is back in action on tomorrow to compete in the Purplke Raider Classic.
