OSTRANDER, OHIO – The defending Ohio Athletic Conference champion Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team finished first of 12 teams today (Sunday, April 14, 2013) at the two-round and 36-hole Ohio Wesleyan University Laura Bump Tournament at the Millcreek Golf Club. The tournament title is the second straight for BW and fourth of the season dating back to the fall.
The BW women totalled 326 strokes today after yesterday's tourney-best 328 strokes for a two-day total of 654 on the par-72, 5,800-yard Millcreek G.C. layout.
All-OAC junior Emilee Woolf (Ravenna) led the Yellow Jackets on day two by carding a season-best 77 strokes for a two-round total of 160. All-OAC junior Rebecca Jones (Hilliard/ Darby) tied a season-best by shooting 80 and finished with 162 strokes. CAPITAL ONE Academic All-American and All-OAC senior Brooke Hamilton (Cleveland/ St. Joseph Academy) shot 83 to finish with 166 strokes. All-OAC, Academic All-OAC and CAPITAL ONE Academic All-District 7 senior Rebecca Kapusta (Independence) tallied 82 strokes and carded a two-round total of 166. All-OAC junior Miranda Cunningham (Dayton/ Christian) shot 87 and finished with 173.
Competing individually, senior Sarah Terrill (Cuyahoga Falls/ Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) finished with 178 strokes after carding a season-low-tying 89 in the second round. Freshman Laura Vidmar (Willoughby/ South) shot a 91 and played to a 189-stroke finish.
BW is back in action on Saturday and Sunday, April 19-20 when it travels to Ada, Ohio to compete at the annual Ohio Northern University Spring Invitational Tournament at the Colonial Hills Golf Club.
