Rebecca Kapusta Selected OAC Women's Golfer of the Week

BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin Wallace University senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference, Academic All-OAC and CAPITAL ONE Academic All-District 7 women's golfer Rebecca Kapusta (Independence) has been named Ohio Athletic Conference women's golfer of the week for the week of March 21-27, 2013.

Kapusta earned her second OAC Player of the Week during her career when she fired a season-low 79, earned medalist honors and led the Yellow Jackets to the team title at the eight-team University of Mount Union Purple Raider Classic on Sunday, March 24. In addition, she fired an 86 on Saturday, March 23 as BW placed second at the Mt. Union Invitational Tournament.

Kapusta has been a key component for a BW team that has won two straight OAC Tournament titles and advanced to the NCAA Division III National Tournament the past two years. She currently stands third on the team with an 82.25 stroke average in three spring tournaments and four rounds of 18 holes.

In addition, Kapusta is a Dean's List student who carries a 3.86 grade average in the classroom and intends to teach and coach following graduation in May.  The past two years, she has been honored by the Division III Women's Golf Coaches Association as a national Scholar-Athlete.

The BW women return to action on April 13-14 when they travel to Delaware, Ohio to play in the Ohio Wesleyan University Laura Bump Invitational Tournament.
