Kapusta Named OAC Golfer of the Week

BEREA, OHIO --  Junior women's golfer Rebecca Kapusta (Independence) has been named as an Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Golfer-of-the-Week for her efforts last week during their Annual Spring Break trips to South Carolina. 

Kapusta, a special education major with a 3.7 grade point average, earned OAC Player of the Week honors for her efforts in leading the Yellow Jackets to the team title at SUNY-Cortland (N.Y.) Tri-Match in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on March 6.  She tied for the low round of 85 on the par-72 and 5,847-yard Barefoot Landing Resort and Norman Course.

For her career, Kapusta has played in 28 tournaments and 49 rounds of 18 holes and is averaging 90.9 strokes per round. She has a career-low of 81 twice. Her 90.9 stroke average ranks 13th all-time at the College. Last spring, she and the Yellow Jackets won the OAC title and advanced to the NCAA Division III National Tournament where they placed 15th.

Kapusta, an All-OAC and Academic All-OAC student-athlete, will lead the Yellow Jacket women are back in action on March 24-25 at the University of Mount Union Invitational at the Tannenhauf Golf Club in Alliance.
