Horvath Ends Career With Third OAC Weekly Honor

BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin Wallace University senior number one singles standout Joe Horvath (North Royalton) ends his illustrious career by garnering his third career Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player-of-the-Week honor.

Horvath closed out his senior campaign by winning all three of his singles and doubles matches last week.  He beat singles opponents from John Carroll University, Capital University and Marietta College by a combined total of 36-14 in points.  He finished on a 13-match winning streak and improved to 24-3 overall and a perfect 9-0 mark against OAC opponents. 

Horvath
and senior teammate Alex Kearney (North Olmsted) won all three of their doubles matches by a combined point total of 24-0 as they improved to a perfect 19-0 overall ad 9-0 against OAC opponents. 

For his career, he finished second on the BW all-time singles win list with 96 singles victories and an overall mark of 96-11. Horvath also finished his doubles career with 88 wins to rank second all-time and an 88-16 career record. His 184 career combination wins also ranks second all-time.  

Horvath has helped lead the Yellow Jackets to a 52-2 record the past two years.
