WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC senior outside hitter Ivy Earl (Howell, Mich.) has been named as the OAC Women's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week.

Previously earning OAC Women's Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week on March 30, 2021 and September 10, 2018, this is the first career OAC Women's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week honor for Earl.

She helped guide BW (14-3 overall) to a 5-0 record last week including winning the Franklin (Ind.) Invitational by going 4-0. In the five matches last week, Earl totaled 75 digs to average an impressive 4.69 digs per set. She also added four total blocks for the Yellow Jackets and only had two reception errors against her. Earl is just 109 digs away from joining the 1,000 digs club. 

Earl also tallied 56 kills, seven assists, and six service aces last week. Earl is only 25 kills away from joining the 1,000 kills club, and just 20 away from breaking into BW's career kills leaders top-10.

This year, Earl has totaled 178 kills (third in the OAC) and earned a 3.42 kills per set average (second in the OAC). She has also notched a season digs per set average of 3.56 in her 16 matches played.  

In her career, Earl has appeared in 96 matches for BW. She has totaled 975 kills, 891 digs, 114 service aces, 61 total blocks, and 54 assists.

BW returns to play this Wednesday, September 29 as the Yellow Jackets open OAC play. BW hosts Otterbein University for a huge showdown starting at 7:00 p.m. at the Lou Higgins Center in Ursprung Gymnasium.
