Women’s Volleyball Dominates Adrian (Mich.) to Earn Another Sweep

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Baldwin Wallace University women's volleyball team traveled to Adrian, Michigan to face the Adrian Bulldogs in a non-conference matchup in the Merillat Sport and Fitness Center. The Yellow Jackets earned the huge 3-0 sweep, dominating the Bulldogs by set scores of 25-17, 25-14, and 25-16.

BW improves to 9-3 overall and extends its win streak to seven, while Adrian drops to a 3-7 overall record.

The Yellow Jackets hit .250 as a team, totaling 38 kills to Adrian's 20 total. BW grabbed the advantage in digs (52-46), assists (35-16), and service aces (7-4).

BW was led by senior First Team All-OAC selection and Academic All-OAC outside hitter Ivy Earl (Howell, Mich.) who totaled 12 kills and eight digs. Senior All-OAC performer and Academic All-OAC outside hitter Cecelia Hamisch (Union/Northmont) posted seven kills, hitting a remarkable .583 percentage.

Leading the Yellow Jackets on defense was senior Academic All-OAC defensive specialist Morgan Martin (Seven Hills/Trinity) who tallied 13 digs and added two service aces. Freshman libero Lauren Gardner (Cleveland/Saint Joseph) finished with 12 digs and two service aces for BW. Freshman setter Lauren Reid (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) dished out 25 assists and added two service aces.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Tuesday, September 21 as BW travels to Hiram University to face the Terriers in a big non-conference matchup in Price Gymnasium. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
