Volleyball Falls to #20 Ohio Northern in OAC Semifinals

ADA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University volleyball team fell in the Ohio Athletic Conference Semifinals to the No. 1 tournament seeded, and No. 20 nationally ranked Ohio Northern University in four, hard fought sets. The scores of the sets were 25-21, 20-25, 20-25, 22-25.

BW (27-5) and Ohio Northern (21-7) met earlier this season on October 2, with the Yellow Jackets defeating the Polar Bears in straight sets.

BW was led offensively by sophomore middle hitter Taylor Brown (Maple Heights), who set a career best 20 kills. Senior three-time All-OAC and Academic All-OAC Alicia Lortcher (Norwalk) applied pressure with 10 kills, providing a 1-2 punch for the Yellow Jackets. Facilitating the offense with 29 assists was sophomore setter Kathleen Egan (Cleveland/Beaumont). Senior setter Ashley Nuding (Perrysburg/Springfield) tallied 18 assists as well.

Four different Yellow Jackets recorded double-digit digs. Sophomore defensive specialist Sarah Reinhard (Willoughby/South) led the way with 34. Lortcher had 15, Egan accumulated 10, and freshman outside hitter Ivy Earl (Howell) totaled 13.
