BW Volleyball Team Falls to Rival John Carroll

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University volleyball team was defeated by Ohio Athletic Conference and Cleveland cross-town rival John Carroll University, 3-1, in an OAC match in the Rudolph Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center. 

The Yellow Jackets (9-16, 2-4 OAC) fell to the Blue Streaks (18-8, 4-2 OAC) in four sets by scores of 12-25, 25-23, 19-25 and 21-25.

BW was led offensively by junior middle hitter Markema Winters (Akron/Firestone) with 12 kills. In addition, senior outside hitter Kayla Harris (Lima) recorded 11 kills. The offense was set up by senior Shannon Deleur (Olmsted Falls) with 30 set assists.

Defensively, freshman libero Arlayna Newcomer (Norwalk/St. Paul) led the way with 21 digs. In addition to Newcomer, Deleur added 20 digs. 

The Yellow Jackets close out the home portion of their schedule this Saturday, October 26 when they host Capital University in an OAC match  on Seniors' & Parents' Day in the Ursprung Gym at 12:00 noon.
