BEREA – The Baldwin Wallace University volleyball team swept Hiram College, 3-0, by scores of 25-20, 25-21, 25-13 in the Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center.
The Yellow Jackets (5-5) were led offensively by senior middle hitter Colleen Bonacci (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) with 12 kills and sophomore outside hitter Anna Miley (West Salem/Northwestern) with 9. Senior setter Emily Nagle (Columbia Station/Columbia) and junior setter Katie Primeau (Pemberville/Eastwood) both hit double figures in assists with 18.
Defensively, senior libero Shannon Deleur (Olmsted Falls) and senior defensive specialist Taylor Burns (Tiffin/Fostoria St. Wendellin) led the way with 11 digs each.
BW is back in action this Saturday, September 14 when it travels to Hiram for a tri-match with Defiance College at 3 p.m. and Hiram at 5 p.m. The next home match is on Wednesday, September 18 when the team hosts NCAA Division II Notre Dame College of Ohio to the Ursprung Gymnasium for a non-conference match at 7 p.m.
