BW Volleyball Team Falls to No. 14 Otterbein

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University volleyball team lost to 14th nationally-ranked Otterbein University, 3-0, in an Ohio Athletic Conference match in the Rike Center.

The Cardinals, 17-4 overall and 2-0 in the OAC, defeated the Yellow Jackets, 8-12 overall and 1-1 in the OAC, by the scores of 25-17, 25-8 and 25-22.

BW was led offensively by junior right side hitter Alayna Chlad (Kent/Roosevelt) and junior right side hitter Markema Winters (Akron/Firestone) with five kills each. In addition, senior middle hitter Colleen Bonacci (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) recorded four kills. 

The offense was set up by both senior setter Emily Nagle (Columbia Station/ Columbia) and junior setter Katie Primeau (Pemberville/ Eastwood) with 12 and nine set assists, respectively.  

Defensively, senior libero Shannon Deleur (Olmsted Falls) led the way with nine defensive digs. 

With her nine digs today, Deleur moved closer to reaching Emily Albanese who is seventh on the all-time digs list with 1,385. She now has 1,341 career digs.

BW is back in action on Saturday, October 12 when it hosts Ohio Northern University at 12:30 p.m. in the Rudolph Ursprung Gymnasium in the Lou Higgins Center on Homecoming.  Fans can watch the match via live video at http://www.bwyellowjackets.com/sports/wvball/2013-14/videos/ohio_northern.
