BALDWIN WALLACE ATHLETICS INFORMATION: As a junior in 2013-2014, Markema played her second season of volleyball and earned her second varsity letter.
GENERAL VOLLEYBALL INFORMATION: Markema has started off to a solid volleyball career thus far. BW has recorded a 29-31 overall record during her first two seasons as a Yellow Jacket. She has appeared in 109 games played and has recorded 205 kills and 83 blocks.
As a freshman in 2011-2012, Markema competed in her first season of volleyball. She played in one game and recorded two kills, and one block. BW finished 18-13 overall.
As a sophomore in 2012-2013, Markema did not play volleyball.
As a junior in 2013-2014, Markema played her second season of volleyball and earned her second varsity letter. She played in 29 matches 108 games, hit .191 and recorded 203 kills, a team-leading 82 blocks and had eight set assists. She was voted as the team's Most Improved Player. BW finished 11-18 overall.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION: Markema Winters grew up in Akron, Ohio and graduated from Firestone High School. In high school, Markema participated in volleyball for four years and earned three varsity letters. She also pariticpated in basketball and lettered the two years she played as well as competing in track for one year.
In volleyball, Markema was named All-City Honorable Mention as a freshman, Second Team her sophomore year, and First Team her junior and senior seasons. She named the team's Best Blocker all four years, Most Improved as a freshman, Best Hitter her junior and senior year, and Best Server her senior season.
