BW Volleyball Rallies To Beat Oberlin

OBERLIN, OHIO – The Baldwin Wallace University volleyball team rallied from a 2-1 deficit to defeat Oberlin College in a non-conference match on Wednesday. The Yellow Jackets won by scores of 18-25, 25-23, 21-25, 25-19 and 15-9.  

BW (2-3) was led offensively by senior middle hitter Kayla Harris (Lima) with 12 kills and followed by senior outside hitter Taylor Burns (Tiffin/Fostoria St. Wendelinn) with 10.  Senior setter Emily Nagle (Columbia Station/Columbia) hit double figures in assists with 17.  

Defensively, while senior libero Shannon Deleur (Olmsted Falls) led the way with 23 digs, while Burns added 15.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action this weekend when they will co-host the 15th Annual Marcia French Memorial Invitational along with Case Western Reserve University on Friday and Saturday, September 6 and 7.  Games played at BW will be played in the Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center and games at Case will be played in the Horsburgh Gymnasium inside the Veale Center.

BW first plays Geneva (Pa.) College in the opener on Friday at 4 p.m. then closes out the first day agains Westminster (Pa.) College at 8 p.m.
