Yellow Jacket Women Tracksters Compete on Final Day of 49er Invitational

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA -- Baldwin-Wallace College women's track and field teams competed today (Saturday, March 17, 2012) on the final day of the annual University of North Carolina Charlotte 49er Invitational Meet. The meet includes schools from Division I, II, III, NAIA and the Junior College ranks.

Junior Cristina Perrine (Middleburg Heights/ Midpark) finished ninth overall in the women's shot put with a distance of 12.34 meters. Also in the shot put for the women, senior Leslie Purnell (Sprinfield/ Catholic Central)finished 11th overall with a distance of 12.07 meters. The women's 4x100 relay team finished tenth overall with a time of 49.99. The team consisted of sophomore Shaquella Greeno (Lima), senior Lauren Nanni (Parma/Padua Franciscan), and juniors Kaylan Lemon (Canton/Massillon Perry)and Brittany Sterling (Lima).  

The Yellow Jackets will be back in action March 31, when they compete in the Ohio Athletic Conference Split Meet (East) at John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio.
