Women's Throwers Compete at Findlay

FINDLAY, OHIO  –  The Baldwin-Wallace College women's indoor track throwers competed last night (Friday, February 3, 2012) at the University of Findlay Open Meet. The remainder of the teams are in action at The College of Wooster Invitational at 12:00 noon in the brand new Scot Center.

Junior Cristina Perrine (Middleburg Heights/ Midpark) placed ninth in the shot put with a mark of 40'9.5". Also in the shot put, senior Leslie Purnell (Springfield/ Central Catholic) was 10th at 37'11.5" and sophomore Alex Shaw (Pittsburgh, Pa./ Bishop Canevin) was 16th at 22'3". To date this season, Perrine ranks 13th in Div. III with a best throw of 42'0.5" and Purnell is 37th at 40'0.5".

In the weight throw at Findlay, Purnell was 10th at 53'1" to rank 13th in Division III, Perrine was 11th at 50'7.5" and Shaw was 22nd at 31'0". Overall, Perrine ranks ninth in Division III in the weight throw with a season-best toss of 54'7.25".

Following its meet at Wooster today, the Yellow Jackets return home and will host the annual B-W Mid-February Meet next Friday, Feb. 10 at 5:00 p.m. B-W also will host the annual Greater Cleveland College Championship Meet on Friday, Feb. 17 at 5:00 p.m.
