AKRON, OHIO  –  Freshman Nicole Christner (Minerva) competed in day one of the University of Akron Combined Events Meet. Christner finished ninth in the heptathlon.

At Akron, freshman Christner competed in her first 5-event pentathlon as a collegian, placed ninth with 2,819 points, which currently ranks her 13th in NCAA Division III. She scored 750 points with a 9.80-second timing in the 60-meter hurdles, 534 points with a high jump of 4'7.75", 479 points with a shot put of 30'3.5", 522 points with a long jump of 15'11.5" and 534 points with a 2:43.43 timing in the 800-meter run.

Following its meet at Wooster today, the Yellow Jackets return home and will host the annual B-W Mid-February Meet next Friday, Feb. 10 at 5:00 p.m. B-W also will host the annual Greater Cleveland College Championship Meet on Friday, Feb. 17 at 5:00 p.m.
