Women's Track Team Takes Part in 49er Invitational Meet

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA --  The Baldwin-Wallace College women's track and field teams competed today (Friday, March 16, 2012) on the first day of the annual University of North Carolina Charlotte 49er Invitational Meet. The meet includes schools from Division I, II, III, NAIA and the Junior College ranks.

Junior Cristina Perrine (Middleburg Heights/ Midpark) placed fourth in the discus with a throw of 42.57 meters and finished 17th in the hammer throw with a toss of 41.34 meters. In addition, senior Leslie Purnell (Sprinfield/ Catholic Central) placed fifth in the hammer throw with a toss of 47.61 meters, and ninth in the discus with a toss of 39.47 meters.

The team is back in action tomorrow (Saturday, March 17, 2012) for day two of the annual University of North Carolina Charlotte 49er Invitational Meet.

Following the UNC-Charlotte Meet, the Yellow Jackets will be back in action March 31, when they compete in the Ohio Athletic Conference Split Meet (East) at John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio.
