MARIETTA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team fell to Marietta College in an Ohio Athletic Conference match by a final score of 1-0 on Marietta Field.
BW Leaders (5-5, 0-1 OAC)
- Sophomore goalkeeper Katie Scott (Lewis Center/Olentangy) led with 11 saves.
Marietta Leaders (2-5-1, 1-0 OAC)
- Senior goalkeeper Madison Miller recorded six saves.
- Junior midfielder Demi Mills scored the lone goal of the match.
First Half (Tie 0-0)
- The first half featured back-and-forth play and shots from both sides, but no goals.
- The Pioneers tallied 12 shots to BW's seven.
- The Yellow Jackets led the half with three corner kicks.
- Scott led the half with four saves compared to Miller's three saves.
Second Half (Marietta 1-0)
- The second half featured even more back-and-forth play as both teams worked to get on the board.
- At the 77th minute, Marietta was awarded a free kick which Mills hit low into the back of the net.
- Marietta led the half with two corner kicks to BW's one.
- The Pioneers took 10 shots, and the Yellow Jackets took eight.
- Scott registered seven saves in the half.
BW is back in action on Wednesday, October 5th when it hosts OAC opponent Mount Union at 7:00 p.m. on the Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium.
