Women’s Soccer Falls in Close Game to No. 12 Case Western

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team fell to No. 12 nationally ranked and cross-town Case Western Reserve University in a non-conference game by a score of 1-0 on the Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium. 

BW Leaders (3-1)

  • Sophomore goalkeeper Katie Scott (Lewis Center/Olentangy) led the squad with four saves.

Case Western Leaders (3-0)

  • Camryn Hartman scored the lone goal of the game.
  • Maggie Storti registered one save.

First Half (0-0, Tied)

  • The Yellow Jacket defense held the Spartans scoreless and to only six shots.
  • Scott recorded three saves in the half.
  • Each team had one corner kick opportunity in the half.

Second Half (1-0, Case Western)

  • Hartman recorded the lone goal of the game in the 50th minute off her own rebound.
  • Each goalkeeper recorded one save in the half.
  • Both teams took five shots in the half.
  • Case Western had the slight advantage in corner kick as they had three opportunities compared to the BW two.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Wednesday, September 14th when they host a non-conference game against Geneva (Pa.) College on the Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium.
