Women’s Soccer Takes Down Heidelberg on the Road

TIFFIN, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team defeated Heidelberg University in an Ohio Athletic Conference game by a final score of 4-0 at the Hidden Valley Soccer Complex. 

BW (9-6, 4-2 OAC) Leaders

  • Four players scored a goal each for the Yellow Jackets. 
  • Freshman midfielder Mary Litzinger (Sardinia/Eastern Brown) and sophomore forward Ella Barth (Highland/Mayfield) each contributed an assist. 
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Katie Scott (Lewis Center/Olentangy) led with six saves. 

Heidelberg (5-7-2, 1-5 OAC) Leaders

  • Meredith Bruce led the team with 12 saves.

First Half (BW 3-0)

  • Three minutes into the match, senior forward Kasey Golaboff (Parma Heights/Valley Forge) picked up a rebound ball and placed it low into the net.
  • At 30:31 Senior Academic All-OAC midfielder Maddie Farrell (Macomb, Mich./Dakota) added a second goal to the board for BW when Litzinger crossed the ball into the box, and Farrell finished it low into the net. 
  • Just before halftime, freshman forward Sydni Mudge (Birch Run, Mich. / Birch Run) scored a third point for the Yellow Jackets off an assist from Barth

Second Half (BW 1-0)

  • 15 minutes into the second half, the Yellow Jackets were awarded a penalty kick which was taken by Barth. The goalie blocked the shot, but Barth was there for the rebound and scored the fourth goal for BW. 

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, October 22nd when they host OAC Opponent Otterbein University for their final home match. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m. on the Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium.
