Women Fall To Moravian (Pa.), 1-0, at PSU-Behrend Herb Lauffer Tournament

BEREA, OHIO - The Baldwin-Wallace College women's soccer team lost to Moravian (Pa.) College, 1-0, today (Saturday, September 4, 2010) in the first round of the Penn State Behrend Herb Lauffler Tournament in Erie, Pennsylvania.  The Yellow Jackets play the host school tomorrow at 12:00 noon in the tourney which is in a classic format (opponents already determined prior to the tourney).

With the loss, the Yellow Jackets are now 0-2 overall. With its win, Moravian is 1-0-1.

Moravian tallied the match's only goal at the 24:35 mark when junior midfielder Kim Gogel scored.  Despite the loss, the Yellow Jackets both outshot the Greyhounds, 13-10, and outcornered them, 4-2. Junior forward Noelle Fox (Canfield) led the Jacket offense with three shots.

In net, B-W freshman Tina Mathur (Mason) played all 90 minutes and was credited with three saves.

Following its match versus PSU-Behrend, the Yellow Jacket women return to Berea to prepare for a Tuesday, Sept. 7 match at traditional rival Oberlin College in Oberlin at 5:00 p.m.
