Women's Soccer Team Falls to First Place ONU, 6-0, in Ada

BEREA, OHIO - The Baldwin-Wallace College women's soccer team lost 6-0 this afternoon (Tuesday, October 13, 2009) versus Ohio Athletic Conference rival Ohio Northern University at The ONU Soccer Field in Ada.
 
With the loss, B-W falls to 5-8-2 overall and 1-3 in the OAC. With the win, ONU is now 10-2-2 overall and 4-0 in the OAC.

B-W next plays on Saturday, October 17 when they host Muskingum University at 5:30 p.m. as part of a men's and women's soccer doubleheader in Berea. The October 17 B-W versus Muskingum University football game and that evening's soccer doubleheader versus Muskingum ALL will be broadcast by SportsTime Ohio http://www.sportstimeohio.com. The soccer matches will air on Sunday, Oct. 18 at 3:00 and 5:00 p.m., respectively, and again on Monday, Oct. 19 at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m., respectively.
 
ONU scored three quick goals, the first coming at 5:35 and the third coming at the 19:21 mark, capping off a four goal first period.  The Polar Bears added another two scores early in the second period to lead 6-0.
 
In goal, sophomore Meagan McLaughlin (Warren/Cardinal Mooney) played all 90 minutes, faced 33 shots and made a season-high ten saves.
 
Overall, ONU outshot B-W, 33-2 and the Polar Bears won the corner kick battle, 5-0.
