Women's Soccer Team Falls 1-0 to Hiram in Berea

BEREA, OHIO - The Baldwin-Wallace College women's soccer team lost 1-0 to Hiram College this afternoon (Wednesday, September 16, 2009) on Tressel Field at The George Finnie Stadium in Berea.

For the season, B-W falls to 3-3-1 overall while Hiram improves to 4-1-1.

Hiram got the game's only goal in the 11th minute when Claire Conner scored unassisted from 15 yards out. B-W's best chance came on a scramble in front of the net with 9:40 remaining, but a Hiram block kept the Jackets off the board.

Sophomore Megan McLaughlin (Warren/ Cardinal Mooney) played all 90 minutes in goal for the Yellow Jackets and made two saves. Hiram's Emily Bristol made three saves en route to the shutout.

The Terriers outshot B-W 5-4 and each team attempted five corner kicks.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action this Saturday, September 19 at Grove City (Pa.) College in the second game of a men's and women's doubleheader at 3:30 p.m.
