Women's Soccer Team Falls to OAC Rival Wilmington College, 4-1, on Seniors' Day in Berea

BEREA, OHIO - The Baldwin-Wallace College women's soccer team lost its season finale to Ohio Athletic Conference foe Wilmington College by a score of 4-1 on Seniors' Day this afternoon (Saturday, October 31, 2009) on Tressel Field at The George Finnie Stadium in Berea. Before the game, B-W honored senior captains Stephanie Geiger (Berea) and Tyler Fridley (Niles/McKinley), who played in their final games as Yellow Jackets.

With the loss, the Yellow Jackets end their season at 6-12-2 overall and 2-7 in the OAC. Wilmington is now 11-5-2 and 6-3 in the OAC.

B-W opened the scoring in the game's 14th minute when freshman Angie Wigton (Worthington/ Worthington Christian) scored her second goal of the season off of a breakaway pass from junior Ellie Reinbrecht (Sylvania/ Toledo St. Ursula Academy).

The Quakers opened the second half with two quick scores coming from Alex Hesson at the 45:35 mark and Nikkie Ambrus at the 49:42 mark. Wilmington then added insurance goals at 74:44 from Jenna Curcio and 83:37 from Ambrus.

Overall, the Quakers outshot the Yellow Jackets 16-11 and won the corner kick battle, 4-3.

In net, B-W sophomore goalie Meagan McLaughlin (Warren/ Cardinal Mooney) faced seven shots and recorded three saves.
