Women's Soccer Team Falls to Case Western Reserve, 1-0, in University Circle on Late PK

BEREA, OHIO - The Baldwin-Wallace College women's soccer team lost to Cleveland cross-town rival Case Western Reserve University, 1-0, today (Tuesday, September 22, 2009) in University Circle. The only goal of the match was scored off of a Case Western Reserve penalty kick from Ann Arruda with two seconds remaining (89:58).

With today's loss, B-W is now 3-4-2 overall and next plays on Saturday, Sept. 26 when the Yellow Jackets travel to New Wilmington, Pennsylvania to play Westminster College in the second game of a men's and women's soccer doubleheader. The B-W men play Westminster at 2:00 p.m. in the first game. CWRU is now 4-2-1 overall.

Overall, the Spartans outshot the Yellow Jackets, 10-3, and CWRU out cornered B-W, 3-2.

In goal for B-W, sophomore Meagan McLaughlin (Warren/Cardinal Mooney) played all 90 minutes and made six saves for the Yellow Jackets, allowing one goal. 

Following its game against Westminster, B-W next plays at home on Tuesday, September 29 when they host St. Vincent (Pa.) College in a soccer doubleheader.  The women will play the Bearcats at 5:00 p.m. with the men following at 7:00 p.m. at Tressel Field in Berea.
