Women's Soccer Team Defeats St. Vincent (Pa.) 3-0 in Berea

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College women's soccer team defeated visiting St. Vincent (Pa.) College 3-0 this evening (Tuesday, September 29, 2009) on Tressel Field at The George Finnie Stadium.

With the win, the Yellow Jackets are now 4-5-2 overall. St. Vincent drops to 1-9 for the season.

B-W opened the scoring when sophomore Leanne Kasburg (Cuyahoga Falls) notched her first career goal at 28:14 following a corner kick by sophomore Brittany Thomas (Westerville/ Central). B-W added to the lead at the 40:32 mark of the second half when senior Stephanie Geiger (Berea) scored on a penalty kick.

Junior Vickie Dreiling (Boardman/ Youngstown Cardinal Mooney) made it 3-0 with 11:39 left to play when she scored her second goal of the year off of a corner from freshman Leah Poiner (Stow/ Stow-Munroe Falls).

In goal, sophomore Meagan McLaughlin (Warren/ Youngstown Cardinal Mooney) made one stop to improve to 4-4-2. Kirstie Mills recorded 10 saves in net for the Bearcats.

B-W returns to action this Saturday, October 3 in its Ohio Athletic Conference opener versus rival Mount Union College at 7:00 p.m. in Berea.
