Camarati Garners Second Career OAC Softball Pitcher of Week Accolade

AUSTINTOWN, OHIO – Baldwin Wallace University softball freshman right hander Nikki Camarati (Brunswick/Holy Name) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for the second time in her career.

Camarati led BW to a 5-1 record and two weekend sweeps, including one to open OAC action against Marietta College.  The Yellow Jackets currently are 16-2 and 2-0 in the OAC and have won four straight and 13 of the last 14 games.

Camarati earns her second weekly accolade as she appeared in four games with four starts, two complete games and a record of 4-0 in 23 innings pitched.  She allowed six runs (four earned) on 18 hits for a 1.22 earned run average (ERA) with 22 strikeouts and 14 walks.  Camarati allowed just one run on three hits with nine strikeouts and four walks in her first career OAC doubleheader sweep of Marietta. 

This season, she has a record 9-1, including a perfect 9-0 mark against Division III opponents.  Camarati leads the OAC with 63 strikeouts and nine victories.  She is tied for second in the OAC with a 1.27 ERA.  Camarati has made 12 appearances with nine starts, six complete games two shutouts and one save in 55 innings.   She has allowed 14 runs (10 earned) on 34 hits with 29 walks.

BW begins a two-game homestand on Tuesday, March 26 when it hosts a non-conference doubleheader against Thiel (Pa.) College at 3:30 p.m.   The Yellow Jackets close out the homestand with an OAC doubleheader against the University of Mount Union on Saturday, March 30 at 1 p.m.
