Boledovic Earns Second Career OAC Softball Hitter of Week Accolade

AUSTINTOWN, OHIO – Baldwin Wallace University softball senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC right fielder Alexis Boledovic (Brook Park/Berea-Midpark) has been named the OAC Softball Hitter of the Week for the second time in her career. 

Boledovic led BW (32-8, 13-5 OAC) to three OAC victories last week and locked up the third seed in the OAC Tournament. 

Boledovic, who garners her second career weekly accolade, started all four games in right field and batted .667 (8-for-12) with two doubles, two runs scored, five runs batted-in (RBIs) and two walks.  She set the school record for hits in a season on her second of four hits in her 4-for-4 performance Boledovic set the school record for runs scored in a season on her only run scored in BW's 7-4 victory over Otterbein University on Saturday.

This season, she leads the team and is tied for first in the OAC in hits with 64 and triples with five.  Boledovic leads the squad and is second in the conference in batting average with a career-best .454 and runs scored with 43.  She leads the team and is third in the league with 38 RBIs and doubles with 15.  Boledovic is second on the team and seventh in the OAC with 11 stolen bases.  In addition, she has hit three homeruns and walked six times.

For her career, Boledovic has appeared and started in all 144 games and is hitting .408.   She is tied for second in school-history in triples with nine, fourth in hits with 190, sixth in runs scored with 108, sixth in doubles with 37, sixth in stolen bases with 35 and ninth in RBIs with 80.  Off the field, Boledovic is the 2019 BW Female Clyde Lamb Award recipient, a two-time Academic All-OAC selection, a College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/Google Cloud Academic All-District selection, a Dean's List Student, a Jacket Scholar and a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta, Chi Alpha Sigma and Dayton C. Miller honor societies.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Friday, May 3 when they travel to New Concord to compete in the OAC Tournament for the first time since the 2011 season.  BW will take on second-seed Ohio Northern University in the first game of the double elimination tournament hosted by Muskingum University on the Donna Newberry Field at 10 a.m.
