Five Softball Student-Athletes Selected to Academic All-OAC Team

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Five Baldwin Wallace University softball student-athletes have been selected to the Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference team.

In order to be selected to the Academic All-OAC team, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, maintain varsity status and have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA.

Senior four-time All-OAC right fielder Alexis Boledovic (Brook Park/Berea-Midpark), junior All-OAC second baseman Alex Kozich (Avon), junior infielder Shelby Sprouse (Granville), sophomore catcher/outfielder Renata Russo (Columbus/Bexley) and sophomore first baseman Hannah Perrine (Sagamore Hills/Nordonia) are five of the 62 Yellow Jacket student-athletes to be recognized this spring.

Boledovic, who earns her third career Academic All-OAC honor, is an exercise science and pre-physical therapy double major who carries a 3.903 GPA. Off the field, she is a Dean's List student; a Jacket Scholar, a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta, Chi Alpha Sigma and Dayton C. Miller honor societies; a University Relations photography student assistant; a two-time College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/Google Cloud Academic All-District 7 selection; and the 2018-19 BW Female Clyde Lamb Award recipient. For her career, Boledovic appeared in 147 games and batted .409 with 195 hits, 38 doubles, nine triples, three home runs, 81 runs batted-in (RBIs), 109 runs scored and 35 stolen bases.

Kozich, who garners her second straight Academic All-OAC accolade, is a pre-physical therapy major who carries a 3.919 GPA. Academically, she is a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar, a CoSIDA/Google Cloud Academic All-District 7 selection and the 2018 recipient of the BW Academic Excellence Award for having the highest GPA on the softball team. In her career, Kozich has appeared in 113 games and has batted .309 with 107 hits, 21 doubles, six triples, three home runs, 54 RBIs, 66 runs scored and 22 stolen bases.

Sprouse, who is named to her first Academic All-OAC team, is a psychology major who carries a 3.887 GPA. She is a Dean's List student and a student assistant in the Office of Athletic Communications. For her career, Sprouse has appeared in 10 games and has batted .357 with five hits, one triple, six RBIs and one run scored. 

Russo, who also earns her first career Academic All-OAC honor, is an undecided major who carries a 3.496 GPA. A Dean's List student, Russo has appeared in 30 games in her career and has batted .333 with three hits, one double, three RBIs and nine runs scored. 

Perrine, who garners her first Academic All-OAC accolade, is a marketing major who carries a 3.756 GPA. She is a Dean's List student. In her career, Perrine has appeared in four games and has scored one run.
