BEREA, Ohio. – On a cold and windy afternoon in Northeast Ohio, the Baldwin Wallace University softball team opened the home portion of its schedule with a non-conference sweep of Oberlin College on the BW Softball Field at the Roehm Athletic Complex.

BW (11-1), who was originally scheduled to play Oberlin (0-2) on April 18 in Oberlin, won its eighth straight game, third doubleheader series and remained undefeated against NCAA Division III opponents.   The Yellow Jackets swept the Yeowomen for the first time since 2014 and improved to 6-2 in the last four doubleheaders.

BW won the first game by a final score of 10-2 in five innings and took the night cap by a final score of 12-8 in six innings when the game was called due to darkness.

In the circle, freshman right hander Nikki Camarati (Brunswick/Holy Name), who is this week's OAC Pitcher of the Week, picked up her fourth win of the season as she allowed two runs on two hits with five strikeouts and six walks.

In game two, the Yellow Jackets scored 12 runs on 14 hits as they plated six in the first, one in the second on a homerun by senior catcher Sami Minor (North Royalton), one in the fourth and four in the fifth.  The Yeowomen scored eight runs on nine hits as it pushed three across in the first, one in the second and fourth and tied the game at 8-8 in the top of the fifth.

The BW offensive attack was led by Boledovic and Matousek as the duo each went 3-for-4.  Matousek had a double, two RBIs and a run scored while Boledovic scored twice.

In addition, Minor went 2-for-2 with a homerun, two walks, four runs scored and two RBIs.  Senior left fielder Abbie Thompson (Madison) was 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.

In the circle, sophomore All-OAC left hander Abby Cosart (Lima/Bath) got a no decision as she allowed six runs (four earned) on eight hits with three strikeouts and one walk.  Camarati pitched one inning and allowed two runs on one hit with two strikeouts and one walk to earn her second win of the day.  Matousek pitched the final inning and did not allow a hit with one strikeout.
