BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer falls to Heidelberg University, 1-0, tonight (Tuesday, October 9, 2012) in an Ohio Athletic Conference and SportsTime Ohio (STO) televised match on the Tressel Field inside The George Finnie Stadium.   The match will air on STO on Wednesday, October 10 at 12:00 p.m.

With its loss, BW falls to 6-4-2 overall and 1-2-1 in the OAC.  With its win, Heidelberg is now 7-5-1 overall and 2-1-1 in the OAC.

In the first half, both teams battled to a scoreless tie.  BW outshot the Student Princes 9-5 in the opening period.

In the second half, Heidelberg opened the scoring at 1-0 when forward Christopher Koczak took the cross from forward Nico Samaniego and buried it into the back of the net at the 48:41 mark.

In net for the Yellow Jackets, senior goalkeeper Ryan Hulings (Centerville) faced 12  Student Prince shots, including six on-goal, allowed one goal and made five saves in 90 minutes of action.  Heidelberg goaltender Matthew Stevens faced 16 Yellow Jacket shots, including four  on-goal, allowed no goals and made four  saves in 90 minutes of action.

In the match, BW outshot the Student Princes, 16-12, but lost the corner kick battle, 6-1.

The team is back in action on Saturday, October 13 when it travels to Wilmington to take on the Quakers of Wilmington College in the second match of a women's and men's OAC doubleheader at 7:00 p.m. The BW women kickoff at 4:30 p.m.   The next home match is on Tuesday, October 16 when the team welcomes cross-town rival John Carroll University for an OAC match at 7:00 p.m.
