MARIETTA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team defeated host Marietta College, 2-1 today (Saturday, October 27, 2012) in an Ohio Athletic Conference match at Marietta Field.

With their victory, the Yellow Jackets are 7-6-4 overall and 2-4-3 in the OAC. The Yellow Jackets will now enter next week's OAC tournament as the sixth seed and will travel to Wilmington on Tuesday night.  With their loss, the Pioneers end their season 4-13 overall and 1-8 in the OAC.

In the first half, Marietta opened the scoring at 1-0 with a goal at the 35:40 mark by Brandon Siringer.  It was Siringer's fourth goal of the year.  BW won the shots battle 10-5, and the corner kick battle 4-3.   

In the second half, sophomore forward Ben Deighton (Richfield /Revere) scored to tied the game at 1-1 at the 72:27.  Senior defender Thomas Kramer (Columbus /Worthington Kilbourne) scored the game-winner at 2-1 lead with his goal at the 76:58 mark.  Marietta won the shots battle in the second 13-7 and also won the corner kick battle 3-2.  

In net for BW, senior goalkeeper Ryan Hulings (Centerville) faced 18 Marietta shots, including seven on-goal, allowed one goals and made six saves in 90 minutes of action. Pioneer goalie Chris Stollar faced 10 Yellow Jacket shots, including six on-goal, allowed zero goals and made six saves in 45 minutes of action.  Bobby Thaxton faced seven shots, including six on-goal, allowed two goals and made four saves.   

In the match, Marietta outshot BW, 18-17, and both teams had six corner kicks respectively.
