BEREA, OHIO --  Senior CAPITAL ONE Academic All-American forward Pat Brennan (Akron/Walsh Jesuit) and has been named to the 2012 NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America) Division III All-Great Lakes Region team for the second straight season.

"We are proud of Pat and happy for him and his family," said veteran Head Coach Reid Ayers. "For four years, Pat displayed the characteristics of what is great about Division III athletics and the Division III philosophy.

"He excelled in the classroom and was involved and a leader on campus," said Ayers. "On the soccer pitch, Pat was a team-leader and one of the best to play at BW during my tenure as coach.  We will definitely miss his leadership and solid play. Pat was a great role model for our younger student-athletes to emulate."

Brennan, who earns his second All-Region honor, was tabbed as a  third-team selection.  He was key member of a Yellow Jacket squad that had a 7-6-4 record this fall.

Brennan, a four-year starter, ended his BW career fifth all-time in scoring with 72 points, sixth in goals scored with 27 and fifth in assists with 18.  He was garnered first-team All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors this season after being selected second-team as both a sophomore and junior.

This season, despite missing three full matches and most of three others due to an injury, Brennan led the Yellow Jackets in scoring with eight goals and two assists for 18 points. He also led the team with 44 shots taken, including 25 on-goal.

Off the field, Brennan carries a 3.8 grade point average in BW's Masters of Accounting program. He is a three-time Academic All-OAC and two-time CAPITAL ONE Academic All-District 7 selection in addition to being a CAPITAL ONE Academic All-American.
