CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA – The Baldwin Wallace University men's and women's outdoor track and field teams competed at the annual University of North Carolina Charlotte 49er Invitational Meet. This is the seond meet of the outdoor season. The meet was unscored, and it was chalked full of Division one universities such as Indiana, and Clemson.
The BW men were led by senoir decathlete Brandon Eddy (Cuyahoga Heights) who placed seventh in the javelin with a career-best throw of 168-feet and six inches (168'6").
In addition, the 4 x 100-meter relay team which consists of senior NCAA Division III All-American Kevin Johnson (Maple Heights/ St. Ignatius), freshman Troy Robinson (Akron/ Garfield), sophomore Ben Beidleman (Washington, D.C./ St. Anselm's Abbey), freshman Otis Conel (Lakeside), placed sixth with a time of 41.79 seconds. Johnson placed placed 10th in the prelims of the 100-meter dash in a career-best 10.71 seconds and 14th in the prelims of the 200-meter dash in acareer-best 21.79 seconds. Sophomore Tyler Burdoff (Painsville/ Riverside) finished 10th in the shot put with a throw of 49'4.5".
Next Saturday, March 29, BW travels to Marietta, Ohio to compete in the annual Ohio Athletic Conference Split Squad Meet. Field events begin at 11:00 a.m.
