BW Men Stand Fourth After OAC Day 1

BEREA, OHIO – The Baldwin Wallace University men's outdoor track and field team stand fourth after the first of two days of competition at the 2014 Ohio Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship Meet at The George Finnie Stadium. Tomorrow's final day of competition begins at 10:00 a.m.

The BW men have scored 25 points to rank fourth of 10 teams.

The BW men were led by sophomore thrower Tyler Burdoff (Painesville/Riverside) placed second in the hammer with a throw of 172 feet.  Burdoff received All-OAC honors for his second place.  Burdoff also placed third in the shot put with a throw of 50-02.5 feet, which earned him All-OAC honors.    

Senior sprinter Kevin Johnson (Maple Height/St. Ignatius) qualified for the finals in the 100 meter dash with the fastest time of 10.86 seconds.  Johnson also qualified in the 200 meter dash for the finals tomorrow.  Sophomore sprinter Ben Beidleman (Wasington, D.C./St. Anselms Abbey) also qualified for tomorrows 100 meter and 200 meter dash finals. 
 
Senior decathlete Brandon Eddy (Cuyahoga Heights) qualified for the finals tomorrow in the 110 meter hurdles.     
 
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Friday, April 9 when select members of the men's and women's teams will travel to Meadville, Pennsylvania and Allegheny College for the Annual Gator Invitational Meet.
