BW Men Finish Fourth at Denison Meet

GRANVILLE, OHIO –   The Baldwin Wallace University men's indoor track and field team placed fourth at the Mike Shannon Denison University Invitational Meet in the Mitchel Fieldhouse.

The BW men scored 91 points and placed fourth of eight teams.

The Yellow Jackets men were led by senior sprinter Kevin Johnson (Maple Heights/ Cleveland St. Ignatius) who won the 60-meter dash in a Mitchel Fieldhouse and track-record of 6.90 seconds. It was .01 shy of his Yellow Jacket school-record of 6.89 seconds set a year ago. He also placed second in the 200 meters and set a BW schoolo-record with a time of 22.67 seconds. In addition, the 4x200-meter relay team of Johnson, senior Shawn Cordes (Litchfield/ Medina Buckeye), freshman Otis Conel (Ashtabula/ Lakeside) and senior Josiah Holt (Elyria/ Grafton Midview) won with a time of 1:32.77. 

The Yellow Jacket track and field teams are back in action on Friday, February 14 when they host the annual Mid-February Meet on the Harrison Dillard Track at 5:00 p.m.  The final home indoor meet is the following Friday, Feb. 21 when BW hosts the annual Greater Cleveland College Indoor Championship Meet at 5:00 p.m.
