Select Women Tracksters Compete at Toledo Meet

TOLEDO, OHIO –  Select members of the Baldwin Wallace University women's outdoor track and field team competed at the University of Toledo Invitational. The meet was unscored. 

For the women, senior sprinter Lauren Nanni (Parma /Padua Franciscan) and freshman thrower Kim Gallavan (Auburn Township / Kenton) posted season and career-bests in their respective events. Nanni placed 14th in the 100 meter dash in a time of 12.92 seconds and 20th in the 200 meters in 26.80 seconds. Gallavan placed 12th in the discus with a throw of 137'8".

In addition, senior distance runner Shaina Kovatch (Parma/Valley Forge) and sophomore Dusica Vasic (Broadview Heights /Brecksville-Broadview Heights) finished seventh and ninth, respectively, in the 5000 meter run. Kovatch finished in 19:45.47 and Vasic crossed the finish line in 21:07.66. In the 800 meter run, junior Brooke Hradisky (Aurora) placed 13th in a time of 2:20.85. Senior hurdler Courtney Kiner (Sunbury/Ashland) finished 13th in the 100 meter hurdles in a time of 15.99 seconds and 20th in the 400 hurdles in 1:09.48. Also, sophomore thrower Alex Shaw (Pittsburgh, Pa. /Bishop Canevin) placed 18th in the hammer throw with a toss of 117'8". 

Select members of the track team will end their season next Friday, May 10 when they compete at the Allegheny College Gator Invitational Meet at 10:00 a.m. in Meadville, Pennsylvania.
