BW Women are Fifth at OWU Meet

DELAWARE, OHIO –  The Baldwin Wallace University women's outdoor track and field team finished fifth at the annual Ohio Wesleyan University Marv Frye Meet today (Saturday, April 6, 2013) at OWU's George Gauthier Track inside Selby Stadium. This was the fourth overall and second scoring meet of the spring for the Yellow Jackets.

For the women, junior All-OAC runner Nicole Smith (Geneva) placed first in the 400 meter dash in a time of 58.67. Freshman Samantha Lang (Akron/ Green) finished fifth in the 400 meter dash crossing the line with a time of 1:00.96. Finishing second in the 100 meter dash was senior All-OAC sprinter Kaylan Lemon (Canton/ Massillon Perry) in a time of 12.66. In the 100 meter hurdle, senior Courtney Kiner (Sunbury/ Ashland) crossed the finish line fifth in a time of 15.96. She also took home sixth place in the 400 hurdle in a time of 1:10.19.

BW is back in action next Saturday, April 13 when it travels back to Delaware, Ohio and Ohio Wesleyan University to compete in the annual Division III Championship Meet. Field events begin at 10:00 a.m.
