WESTERVILLE, OHIO –  The Baldwin Wallace University women's indoor track and field team finished third at the annual All-Ohio Division III Championship Meet today in the Clements Recreation Center at Otterbein University. This was the fifth indoor meet of the winter for the Yellow Jackets. One Yellow Jacket set a school-record and another tied a mark.

The BW women scored 65.50 points and had one champion.

Highlighting the meet were junior Victoria Brown (Berlin Center/ Western Reserve) and freshman Melanie Winters (Stow). Brown finished first and set a school-record indoors in the high jump with a leap of 5-feet and 7.25-inches. The mark bested the previous mark of 5'7" by Kristina Robertson in 1992.  Winters finished third in both the 60-meter dash in 8.00 seconds and 60-meter hurdles in 9.40 seconds. Her hurdles time tied a school mark that is held by two other competitors, including current sophomore Nicole Christner (Minerva).

In addition, the women's distance medley relay team consisting of senior Tess Hoogeveen (Westerville/South), junior Brooke Hradisky (Aurora) and freshman Taylor Jurczynski (Parma) and Ashley Wakut (Seven Hills) finished second with a time of 12:53.13.

Junior Nicole Smith (Geneva) also placed third in her event, the 400-meter dash, with a time of 1:00.85. The BW 4x400-meter relay team consisting of Hradisky, Smith, Wakut, and freshman Samantha Lang (Akron/Green) took third as they crossed the finish line in a time of 4:10.84.

The Yellow Jacket track and field teams are back in action on Friday, February 15 when they host the annual Greater Cleveland College Championship Meet on the Harrison Dillard Track in Berea at 5:00 p.m.
