Freshmen Lead BW Women at Gator Invite

MEADVILLE, Pa. – A host of freshmen led the Baldwin Wallace University women's outdoor track and field teams at the Eighth Annual Gator Invitational, hosted by Allegheny (Pa.) College at Frank B. Fuhrer Field at Robertson Complex.  The meet was unscored.

Freshmen Maggie Urban (Cleveland/St. Joseph's Academy) and Kim Gallavan (Auburn Township/Kenton) led the Yellow Jacket women by placing fifth (143 feet and 10 inches) and ninth (133-2), respectively, in the hammer throw.

Gallavan also heaved the shot put 40-4 and came in fourth, and the discus 132-5 and came in sixth.

Freshman Melissa Hellisz (Parma/Normandy) led the Yellow Jacket women by coming in sixth place in the long jump by leaping 15-9.5, and also jumped 4-11 in the high jump and came in seventh.

Senior Brooke Hradisky (Aurora) came in seventh place in the 800-meter dash after finishing in 2:20.50.

Only Hradisky will compete Monday, May 13 at the Ron Althoff Invitational, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University, in Delaware.
